The YRC unit of the college has been functioning effectively by way conducting various activities in and around the campus and rendering services to the society in necessary circumstances and emergency situation for covering the YRC Principles of Health, Service and Friendship Dr. V.Veeramuthu, Assistant Professor, Dept, of Political Science has been acting as a programme officer of the unit. There are 610 students enrolled their names as YRC volunteers who are being trained regularly in First Aid, Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Measures, Prevention of Alcoholism, Drug abuse, Fire fighting and Safety Norms, Road Safety and Maintaining Health and Hygienic. The awareness programme on AIDS, Blood Donation, and Environmental Protection, Soft skills & Leadership qualities and Eye donation are being imparted to the volunteers by way of conducting seminars with eminent personalities of the respective field.
The programme officer and selective volunteers are being permitted regularly to participate in various Training Programs, Camps and Workshops conducted by the YRC of zonal wing, Periyar University and Tamilnadu State Branch in various occasions.
The following programmes are carried out regularly by the YRC Unit of the College
Ø Blood Donation Camp is conducted every year. The collected Blood is used in the Govt.Hospital, Namakkal, Rasipuram and Salem.
Ø Road Safety Progrmme is organized every year with the help of Road Transport Department of Rasipuram.
Ø Dengue awareness rally conducted in every year.
Ø Sapling plantation is conducted in the college campus every year.
Ø AIDS awareness programme was conducted every year.
Ø YRC volunteers cleaning the college campus twice in year.
Ø Blood donation is being arranged for needy people in emergency basis throughout the year.
Ø Voter’s day awareness rally conducted by YRC.
Ø To train, motivate and mold the YRC Volunteers, the most efficient and involved volunteers are selected to participate in the District Level One Day Orientation programme is organized by the District Organizer every year.
Ø Feb 15 is observed and celebrated as YRC day with conducting competition among the volunteers.
Ø Ten peer group educators were selected among our first year students and they were trained for three days in Arignar Anna Govt. Arts College, Namakkal.
Ø In association with Pillanallur Govt. Hospital, we conduct an anti- warms tablet donated for the benefit our students in our campus.
Ø We conduct an YRC awareness camp for the benefit our students in our campus.
Ø Clean India Programme was conducted by YRC.
